A key link in the web of life, insects are a food source for many species and pollinate a considerable number of plants, guaranteeing a large proportion of our diet. However, they can also cause huge damage to crops.
Well-studied but also sometimes poorly understood, they can be beneficial but sometimes harmful. Hence a good knowledge and understanding of insects is crucial to proper management of both pests and beneficial insects.
